Many of you have asked what the City of Los Angeles can do to keep good-paying film and television jobs right here at home. That’s why I’ve introduced a motion in Council to reduce the red tape and costs that drive productions out of our city.
I’m asking for:
-
Lower permit fees
-
A less expensive alternative to mandatory public safety personnel at every filming location
-
More affordable parking options for production crews
-
A streamlined permitting process
-
Simplified certification for new sound stages
More production in L.A. means more jobs for Angelenos, more local business activity, and more revenue for the City to invest in the services you rely on every day.
I’ll be joining the Stay in L.A. rally this Sunday, April 6, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at SirReel Studios, 8500 Lankershim Blvd., Sun Valley—standing with our local workforce to demand real solutions that protect California film jobs.
Let’s keep production in L.A. where it belongs.
